Milani Blue Lightening. Did they misspell it and intend on it saying “Blue Lightning” instead? Who knows… Anyway! In the bottle it looks like a sparkly blue/purple/slight gold duochrome. On the nail… it’s just blue with some purple bits here and there. It’s a little disappointing, but it’s still sparkly goodness. I feel like this particular shade is pretty popular (like Warpaint Galaxy, ORLY Stone Cold, or A England Order of the Garter), so if you have any of those, you can probably skip purchasing this one.

Pictured above are two coats. I wouldn’t quite call it a one coat formula, especially if you do thin coats, but it does dry very quickly, so multiple coats aren’t a big deal.

I think I found this at Walgreens over the summer, so it’s long gone from drugstores by now… and it doesn’t seem to be on Milani’s website anymore either. Maybe it was limited edition?

I was a little disappointed by the lack of duochrome, and I didn’t really want just a sparkly blue manicure so I added Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed on top!

Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed! It’s a blue-based green jelly with bits of microglitter and predominantly red-orange flakies! I haven’t worn it by itself, but it sure is gorgeous over Milani Blue Lightening. Pictured above are two coats. It dried quickly and smooth. Oh, and the flakies and glitter are super easy to remove!

You can purchase Cult Nails from Maria at cultnails.com for $10 a polish.

I think this combo is fantastic! The blue by itself is nice, but Toxic Seaweed definitely helps it pop!
